Is local dictation included?

Yes. On-device dictation is included without a paid plan or credit card. Optional cloud dictation and Cue Clean use credits only when you choose them.

What apps does Cue work with?

Anywhere you can place a cursor, Cue can place text. Slack, Notion, VS Code, Mail, Chrome, your browser—if it accepts typing, Cue works there.

How accurate is the transcription?

Accuracy depends on the model, language, microphone, environment, and vocabulary. Cue lets you choose an on-device or cloud model and add custom vocabulary. The best test is your own daily workflow.

Is my audio stored anywhere?

In on-device mode, transcription runs on your Mac. If you select a cloud mode, audio is sent to the chosen provider for transcription. Cue makes the active mode visible so local and cloud processing are not confused.

Will it work on my Intel Mac?

Cue supports macOS 14+ on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. Available models and performance vary by hardware.

Can I change the keyboard shortcut?

Of course. You can set any key as your trigger—Fn, double-tap Command, Option, or whatever feels right in settings.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. Choose an on-device model when you need to dictate without internet. Cloud models require a connection and are optional.

What about Windows or Linux?

Cue is macOS-exclusive for now. Windows support is on our roadmap—sign up for updates and we’ll let you know when it’s ready.
